Our Story
Terry Filion (my father) lived with high moral convictions. He believed that the skin was a reflection of one's internal peace and mindset. He believed if the heart and mind were in unison, a person would look healthy and beautiful no matter what products they used or didn't use.
Blemex defines just that: "Beauty, Longevity, Empathy, Mindfulness, Enthusiasm, Xanadu."
What did he mean? He meant that if one focused equally on their beauty and their wellbeing (longevity) in the sense of daily choices, actions, and diet—while being empathetic to one's shortcomings and to others in their life problems—to be mindful of every moment and how we make an impact in this world, and dedicate ourselves with enthusiasm to be the best moral and honest version of ourselves, we would achieve an inner state of Xanadu.
(Xanadu definition: An idealized place of great or idyllic magnificence and beauty, providing a sense of peace and serenity—famously used in Orson Welles' film Citizen Kane).
The inspiration behind Blemex is that if Xanadu is external, then it is fleeting. But if we build Xanadu internally based on deep convictions and moral righteousness, we achieve a state of true peacefulness and joy. That is what my father believed, and that is what Blemex represents within our line: wanting people to be happy, confident, and enthusiastic about their daily choices, even if they never use our products.
This line truly is a treasure of ours and we know you will love it as well. We originally formulated this classic line to give a radiant hydrated look while delivering an instantly refreshing, cooling sensation. There is always room and a purpose for Blemex. The invigorating aroma of tea tree oil, paired with its cooling and energizing sensation, is something you will come to love. Blemex leaves a delightful herbal scent wherever it's applied.

The Blemex trademark was first established in 1989 by Terry Filion, and with his passing, it holds deep familial importance to Zanqara.
